
Here is my version of Swedish meatballs. The sauce is so simple to prepare and tastes lovely. You could serve this as a pasta dish which would work beautifully, with crusty bread, or with mashed potatoes and green veg. I wanted to keep a Scandinavian vibe so I used dill as my herb of choice. Parsley or chervil would also work really well. If making meatballs isn’t for you, then buy good quality shop bought and give the simple sauce a go.

Method
Combine the meatball ingredients and shape into approximately 12-16 balls. Chill until needed.
Pan fry the meatballs until golden, but not cooked through. Add the onion and garlic an cook until soft and golden and the meatballs are cooked through. Add the flour and stir, now add a little water to loosen. Add the creme fraiche and gently warm through adding more water if necessary. When hot remove from the heat immediately and stir in the dill.
